Pukehina Beach is a popular beach that attracts swimmers, surfers and fishermen from throughout the local Bay of Plenty area, and visitors to the area.
Pukehina Surf Rescue exists to protect beachgoers from harm.

Saturday and Sunday patrols: 10am - 4pm

When to contact a Lifeguard
You should contact a Lifeguard when:
- Someone appears to be struggling in the water
- Someone is missing on the beach / in the water
- There is a potential hazard on the beach (e.g. glass)
- A shark is spotted
We can retrieve stuck kontikis along Pukehina Beach. To do this for you, we ask for a $100 donation towards our equipment.
